টেলিযোগাযোগ প্রযুক্তিকে ব্যবহার করে Computer থেকে Computerএ তথ্য আদান-প্রদানের প্রযুক্তিকে Internet(International Network) বলে।১৯৬৯ সালে USA এর প্রতিরক্ষা দপ্তর ARPANET চালু করে। যা Network জগতে মানুষের প্রথম পদক্ষেপ।১৯৯০ সালে ইন্টারনেটের ব্যবহার শুরু হলেও Internet শব্দটি প্রচলন হয় ১৯৯৪ সাল থেকে। বাংলাদেশে ১৯৯৬ সাল থেকে ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহার শুরু হয়।

Network Protocol: Computer Network এর জন্য সুপরিকল্পিত ও নির্ধারিত রীতি-নীতি হচ্ছে Network Protocol. বিভিন্ন ধরনের Protocol হলো:
- TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol). ১৯৮২ সালে এটি প্রথম উদ্ভাবন করা হয় এবং সর্বাধিক ব্যবহৃত হয়। এর মোট ৭টি স্তর আছে।
- FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
- IPX/SPX
- NETBEUI

Internet Connection: Internet সংযোগ দিতে প্রয়োজন:
- Computer
- Modem
- Telephone Line/Mobile Phone
- Software
- InternetService Provider (IPS)
Modem: Computer ও Telephone Line এর মধ্যে সংযোগ স্থাপনে Modem (Modulation + Demodulation) ব্যবহৃত হয়। এর মাধ্যমে কম্পিউটারে Telephone এর সংযোগ দেওয়া হয়।
→ এটি Computer এর Communication Port-এ যুক্ত থাকে।
→ Modulation ডিজিটাল সংকেতকে Analog Signal এ Transform করে।
→ Demodulation এনালগ সংকেতকে Digital Signal এ রূপান্তরিত করে।
IPS (Internet Service Provider): যে সব Company জনসাধারণের মাঝে Internet সেবা প্রদান করে এবং বিনিময়ে নির্ধারিত Fee নেয় তাদের IPS বলে।
IP Address (Internet Protocol Address): টেলিফোনের ক্ষেত্রে প্রতিটি ফোন সেট এর জন্য যেমন একটি Number থাকে ঠিক তেমনি Internet এ প্রতিটি কম্পিউটারের জন্য একটি Identity থাকে যা IP Address নামে পরিচিত।
→ USA এর IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) নামক একটি প্রতিষ্ঠান IP Address প্রদান করে।
→ বর্তমানে IPv4 সিস্টেম চালু আছে।
→ IP Address এর সম্পূর্ণ সংখ্যা প্রকাশের জন্য 32-bit প্রয়োজন।
→ প্রতিটি সংখ্যার জন্য 8-bit প্রয়োজন।
→ সংখ্যাগুলোকে Dot (.) দ্বারা পৃথক করা হয়।
→ IP Address এর প্রথম দুটি নেটওয়ার্ক আইডি এবং পরের দুটি হোস্ট আইডি।
→ বাইনারি সংখ্যা মনে রাখা অসুবিধাজনক বিধায় এর সমকক্ষ ডেসিমাল সংখ্যা দিয়ে IP Address লেখা হয়।
→ IP Address এর উদাহরণ: 172.16.20.137
→ এখানে Network ID: 172.16 এবং Host ID: 20.137
→ IPv4 Address এর ব্যবহার বৃদ্ধির জন্য যে সমস্যা দেখা দেয় তার সমাধানে IPv6 নামে 128-bit এর IP Address চালু হয়েছে।
→ DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) এটি স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে একটি কম্পিউটারের সাথে অন্য Computer এর Network Connection এর জন্য IP Address প্রদান করে।
→ IP Address মনে রাখা কষ্টসাধ্য বলে সারাবিশ্বে DNS (Domain Name System) পদ্ধতি ব্যবহার করা হয়। DNS যে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করে তার নাম InterNIC (The Internet Network Information Center)
→ এই প্রতিষ্ঠান সকল Domain Name কে একটিDatabase File এ সংরক্ষণ করে। ফলে এটি Duplicate হবার Probability থাকে না।

Top Level Domain (TLD)২ ধরনের। যথা:
- ccTLD (country code Top-Level Domain). যেমন:

- gTLD (generic Top-Level Domain). যেমন:
.com (Commercial)

HTML: Hyper Text Markup Language এমন একটি পদ্ধতি যা অন্য তথ্যের সাথে সংযোগ স্থাপন করিয়ে দেয়। মূলত এটি একটি তথ্য উপস্থাপনের পদ্ধতি। উদাহরণস্বরূপ: কেউ একজন ইন্টারনেটে কোনো একটি বিষয়ে আলোচনা দেখছে। তখন Click নামে শব্দটি অন্য একটি রঙে প্রদর্শিত হয়েছে এবং এটি Underline করা হয়েছে। এটাই HTML.
→ এর দ্বারা এক Link থেকে অন্য Link এ যাওয়া যায়।
→ এক Link থেকে অন্য Link এ যাওয়া নাম Navigation.
→ Internet এ যে Protocol এর সাহায্যে Hyper Text আদান প্রদান করা হয় তাকে HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) বলে।
→ HTML Page কীভাবে দেখাবে বা Web Page এর গঠন কেমন হবে অর্থা- Document কীভাবে দেখানো হবে বা Document Style Control করার জন্য Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) ব্যবহৃত হয়।
WWW:১৯৮৯ সালে সুইজারল্যান্ডের গবেষণা প্রতিষ্ঠান CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) এর বিজ্ঞানীরা WWW (World Wide Web) উদ্ভাবন করেন। এর মাধ্যমে ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারকারীরা পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন স্থানে যে তথ্য ভান্ডার রয়েছে তার যে কোনোটিতে পৌঁছে যেতে পারে।
→ একে Internet Multimedia বলে।
→ টিম বার্নাস লি WWW এর জনক।
→ Internet এ তথ্য রাখার Space বা Page কে Web page বলে। এটি একাধিক পৃষ্ঠারও হতে পারে।
→ Internet এ ঢুকলে প্রথমে যে Page টি প্রদর্শিত হয় সেটি হল Home Page.
URL: কোনো Web Page কে প্রদর্শিত করতে Web Browser এর ঠিকানা নির্দিষ্ট করে দিতে হয়। Website এর এই একক ঠিকানা হচ্ছে URL (Uniform Resource Locator). একটি URL এ থাকে:
- Web Protocol Name
- Web Server Name/Domain Name
- Server Directory Name
- HTML File Name

- google.com (বহুল ব্যবহৃত, সবচেয়ে বড় ও জনপ্রিয় সার্চইঞ্জিন)

- bing.com (এটি Microsoft Corporation এর সার্চইঞ্জিন)

Cookie: ব্যবহারকারী ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারকালে যখন কোনো সাইটে ভিজিট করেন তখন ব্রাউজারে ওয়েবসাইট থেকে প্রেরিত ক্ষুদ্র তথ্যপূর্ণ কিছু Text/Internet Information file জমা হয়, একে Cookie বলে।
Reload/Refresh: যে সকল ওয়েবপেজের ডেটা অনবরত পরিবর্তন হয় সে সকল ওয়েবপেজ পড়ার সময় মাঝপথে কোনো পরিবর্তন হয়েছে কি-না তা জানার জন্য Reload/Refresh কমান্ড দিতে হয়।
IRC (Internet Reply Chat): এটি হচ্ছে এমন একটি গল্পের আসর যেখানে বিভিন্ন লোক একটি নির্দিষ্ট চ্যানেলের মাধ্যমে বিভিন্ন ব্যবহারকারীর সাথে খোশগল্প করতে পারে।
Voice Chat: ইন্টারনেটে টেলিফোনের মতো বিভিন্ন ব্যক্তির সাথে কথা বলার পদ্ধতিকে Voice Chat বলে।
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol): এটি Internet এর মাধ্যমে Telephone Call আদান-প্রদান করার বিশেষ পদ্ধতি। VoIP Applications হলো:
- Skype
- Net 2 Phone
- MSN Messenger
- Cool Talk
- Net Meeting
Intranet: এটি একটি প্রতিষ্ঠানের অভ্যন্তরীণ যোগাযোগের জন্য ব্যবহৃত ওয়েবসাইট, যা কেবল ঐ প্রতিষ্ঠানের কর্মীরাই ব্যবহার করতে পারে। এছাড়া অন্য কেউ এটিতে প্রবেশ করতে পারে না।
Internet: এটি সারাপৃথিবী জুড়ে বিস্তৃত, পরস্পরের সাথে সংযুক্ত অনেকগুলো কম্পিউটার নেটওয়ার্কের সমষ্টি যা জনসাধারণের জন্য উন্মুক্ত।এতে যে কেউ প্রবেশ করতে পারে এবং ব্যবহার করতে পারে।
Extranet: একটি প্রতিষ্ঠানের Intranet কে যখন অন্য একটি প্রতিষ্ঠানের Intranet এর সাথে যুক্ত করা হয় তখন তাকে Extranet বলে।
একটি Computer থেকে অন্য একটি Computer এ তথ্য পাঠানোর পদ্ধতিকে E-mail(Electronic Mail) বলে। ইমেইলের ঠিকানায় @ (at sign) ব্যবহৃত হয়। ১৯৭২ সালে প্রথম এই চিহ্ন ব্যবহৃত হয়। এই চিহ্নের আগের অংশে User name এবং পরের অংশে Domain name থাকে। যেমন:

Email Server: Email Server হলো Network এর একটি Computer যা Virtual Post Office হিসেবে কাজ করে। Mail Server এ POP& SMTP ব্যবহার করা হয়।
POP is used for Receiving Mail
SMTP is used for Sending Mail
- POP (Post Office Protocol): ব্যবহারকারীরা যে সকল মেইল গ্রহণ করে বা তার কাছে আসে সেগুলোকে Incoming mail বলে। মেইল সার্ভার থেকে Incoming mail গ্রহণ করার জন্য যে প্রটোকল ব্যবহৃত হয় তা হলো POP (Post Office Protocol). সর্বাধিক জনপ্রিয় Protocol হল POP3.
- SMTP (Single Mail Transfer Protocol): ব্যবহারকারীরা যে সকল মেইল বাহিরে পাঠায় তাকে Outgoing mail বলে।মেইল সার্ভার থেকে Outgoing mail পাঠানোর জন্য SMTP (Single Mail Transfer Protocol) ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- Sending Email:ইমেইল পাঠানোর ক্ষেত্রেEmail এর ঠিকানায়Cc ও Bccএই দুটি ব্যবহৃত হয়।Cc এর ক্ষেত্রে প্রাপক Email পেয়ে বুঝতে পারে কাকে এর Copy/Mail পাঠানো হয়েছে। কিন্তু Bcc এর ক্ষেত্রে প্রাপক জানতে পারে না কাদেরকে Mail করা হয়েছে।
→ Cc (Carbon Copy)
→ Bcc (Blind Carbon Copy)
- Attachment: এটি একটি আলাদা File যা Email এর সঙ্গে সংযুক্ত করে পাঠানো হয়। এটি বিভিন্ন রকমের হতে পারে। যেমন: ছবি, ডকুমেন্ট, অডিও, ভিডিও ইত্যাদ।
- Spam: ভুয়া ও অযাচিত Mail যেখানে জমা হয় তাকে Spam বলে। এটি মূলত অনাকাঙ্ক্ষিত ইমেইল।
- Mail Address: কিছু জনপ্রিয় ও বহুল ব্যবহৃত Web Mail এর ঠিকানা হলো:

E-Commerce
E-Commerce (Electronic Commerce): এটি একটি আধুনিক ব্যবসা পদ্ধতি; Digital Technology ব্যবহার করে বাণিজ্যিক লেনদেন করাকে E-commerce বলে। এটি মূলত Online Marketing, যার মাধ্যমে পণ্য ক্রয়-বিক্রয় বা লেনদেন সংক্রান্ত কাজ করা হয়। পণ্য লেনদেনের প্রকৃতি ও ধরন অনুসারে E-Commerce কে ৪ ভাগে ভাগ করা হয়। যথা:
→ B2C (Business to Consumer)
→ B2B (Business to Business)
→ C2C (Consumer to Consumer)
→ C2B (Consumer to Business)
- E-Business: কোনো প্রতিষ্ঠানের নিজস্ব নিয়ন্ত্রণাধীন আধুনিক Information System-সহ Digital Technology নির্ভর অভ্যন্তরীণ সকল প্রকার লেনদেনের প্রক্রিয়াকে E-Business বলে। E-Business প্রতিষ্ঠানের সীমানার বাহিরে কোনো প্রকার বাণিজ্যিক লেনদেনের সঙ্গে সংশ্লিষ্ট নয়।
- M-Commerce (Mobile Commerce): মোবাইলের মাধ্যমে Wireless Network তথা ইন্টারনেটে প্রবেশ করে E-Business করাকে M-Commerce বলে।

Cloud Computing
ক্লাউড কম্পিউটিং এর মূল বিষয় হলো নিজের ব্যবহৃত কম্পিউটারের Hard Drive এর পরিবের্তে Internet সেবা প্রদানকারী কোন প্রতিষ্ঠানের নিকট হতে Service বা Hardware ভাড়া নেওয়া। এই ভাড়া নেওয়ার পদ্ধতিকে Cloud Computing বলে। এটি মূলত একটি Internet সেবা। ২০০৬ সালে সর্বপ্রথম আমাজন ওয়েভ সার্ভিস বাণিজ্যিকভাবে Cloud Computing এর ব্যবহার শূরু করে।
Cloud Computing এর ৩টি বৈশিষ্ট্য থাকবে। যথা:
- Resource scalability: এখানে ক্রেতার সব ধরনের চাহিদা মেটানো হবে।
- On-demand: ক্রেতা যখন-তখন তার ইচ্ছানুযায়ী সেবা পাবে।
- Pay as you go: এটি একটি Payment Model. অর্থাৎ ক্রেতা যা ব্যবহার করবে শুধু তার জন্যে পেমেন্ট দিতে হবে।
Cloud Computing এর Service Model ৩টি। যথা:
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): এটি অবকাঠামোগত সেবা।
- Platform as a Service (PaaS): এটি প্ল্যাটফর্মভিত্তিক সেবা।
- Software as a Service (SaaS): এটি সফটওয়্যারভিত্তিক সেবা।
Cloud Computing এর সুবিধাসমূহ:
- যে কোনো স্থান হতে ইন্টারনেটের মাধ্যমে তথ্য আপলোড ও ডাউনলোড করা যায়।
- নিজস্ব কোনো হার্ডওয়্যারের প্রয়োজন হয় না।
- যে কোনো হার্ডওয়্যারের মধ্য দিয়ে অ্যাপ্লিকেশন ব্যবহারের সুবিধা রয়েছে।
- তথ্য কীভাবে সংরক্ষিত হবে বা প্রক্রিয়াজাত হবে তা জানার প্রয়োজন হয় না।
- স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে সফটওয়্যার আপডেট করা হয়ে থাকে।
- সার্বক্ষণিক ব্যবহার করা যায় এবং অপারেটিং খরচ তুলনামূলক কম।
Cloud Computing এর সুবিধাসমূহ:
- ডেটা ও প্রোগ্রামের উপর নিয়ন্ত্রণ থাকে না।
- তথ্য পাঠিয়ে দেওয়ার পর তা কোথায় সংরক্ষণ হয়ে এবং কীভাবে প্রসেসিং হচ্ছে তা জানার উপায় থাকে না।
তথ্যের গোপনীয়তা ভঙ্গের এবং পাল্টে যাওয়ার সম্ভাবনা থাকে।
